Representatives of three levelsof government were at the Langford rail station yesterday to champion the E&N Rail Line for federal/provincial infrastructure funds.
Several capital region mayors joined forces with New Democrat MLAs Maurine Karagianis and John Horgan and Liberal MP Keith Martin, who called transforming the E&N into a viable commuter line one of the most pressing infrastructure needs in the area.

MLAs, said Monday in a budget priorities report the project to restore
the line for commuter and freight services should be a capital spending
priority.

JOHN HORGAN says it's "striking" to hear Premier Campbell talk about the "need for selflessness when the only people he is asking to pay the bills are the ones who can least afford it." He claims the "speed at which the Premier is making his decisions in isolation of the realities that ordinary people are facing every day" is at the root of the problem with the carbon tax and suggests latest poll results show the public is shifting away from that position.
